Anyone still wishing to perpetuate the “No Snow in The Alps” myth better make sure they don’t look at any webcams pointing at Chamonix and instead bury their noses in books proving the world is flat. Another 20 inches of snow at the weekend, with 10 more yesterday brought snow depths on the resort’s low slopes up to 12 feet this morning. Another two feet of snow is forecast over the next week.

Despite heavy snowfall in the Alps since New Year, the World Cup race schedule remains in turmoil, this time because temperatures are climbing again. The latest victims are the men’s Downhill and Super-Combined World Cup races scheduled for Chamonix on January 20th and 21st.
