Winter Park was hit hard with the latest winter storm that blasted across Colorado.
Winter Park and Mary Jane received 16 inches of snow in one day, at the 5 a.m. reading, which was more than anyone else in Colorado Ski Country. The base at the summit of the mountain is just under the 100-inch mark.
It’s great snow for the upcoming Dummy Downhill Race March 29, where participants can see what kind of skier or boarder they can build and how far their contraption can make it over the big jump at the base. Guest Services has more info at 970-726-1564.
Winter Park lodging is offering a package deal for those of you who need to fly to get to the slopes. It’s the “Fly, Drive and Ski” deal and includes round-trip airfare to Denver International Airport, a four-day car rental, four nights of lodging in the town of Winter Park, and a three-day lift ticket starting at $963 per person. The details are at 800-979-0332.
Winter Park is 67 miles northwest of Denver and the closest major destination resort to Denver International Airport.
