With an eight foot snow depth on upper slopes, just a little below the huge average for this time of year, St Anton is gearing up for it’s popular Spring skiing season. The resort has a lot of Spring special deals including the popular Firn week from March 24th to 31st as well as the sun skiing package rate of April 7th to 14th.

Travel writer Claire Walter just returned from a tour of the Alps and some of the biggest names in skiing. Her report: It’s a good thing that Europeans don’t have a late-November holiday to kick off the ski season. There has been no virtually no snow in the Alps. Above-freezing temperatures curtailed snowmaking efforts. And did I mention the rain?
