Why in the world would you close when there's plenty of snow? Just open later in the day. It's Alaska for goodness sake.

Alyeska is set for some serious spring skiing, not to mention partying.
The resort has one of the best bases in North America, with more than 700 inches of snow already this season.
"In March alone, we got 10 feet of snow and it's still coming down," said a resort rep. "The conditions up top are phenomenal and down below they are good, too."
It's gonna be a great close to the season with three events set for the coming weeks, including the World Telemark Free-skiing championships, the North Face Masters Big Mountain Snowboarding Competition, and the Subaru Free-skiing World Championships.
