The Big Storm

By Jill Adler on December 7, 2007

It's not big until I bust out the snowblower to clear my steep-ass driveway.

This morning I have to blow. It's with a mixed bag of feelings that I head out. I have to plow, I have to change into my Bizzak snowtires with the rest of Park City and the construction I began on my new home addition is currently buried under a foot of snow (it's snowing harder in PC than in the Cottonwoods right now). But if I can muddle through, I'll be on a hill somewhere by noon. At least it's supposed to dump hard all day so I'll still find freshtracks somewhere.

Yeah, I bet you're crying for me! So off I go. Check back later to see if I actually made it to the hill.
(This is a pic I took of Alta on Monday Dec. 3)

Hi Kimet- wish i could be that girl of your dreams but I've never been to Stratton. I'm a western girl. Born and raised in California, moved to Aspen, then Park City. BTW, I'm back to blogging under my PCSkiGal Username. check it out!

Hi Tex- Not sure what it's like in Santa Fe but the shuttles in Park City and free for everyone and not just visitors in the hotels. It's also a pretty crazy time in town. The place is normally packed with Dec. 26 being the busiest ski day of the season. Have a great trip!

I'll be there in Jan. Staying in Deer Valley in a crazy condo next to Stein Erickson. Can't wait to be there again!!!

How's the skiing now (December 17)....but more importantly....

My 27 year old son and I and a friend will be in Santa Fe staying near downtown at my sister in law's from about December 28 through January 12...is any of that time generally a BAD time to hit the slopes (due to crowded conditions?)
Also, do any of the hotels in town that shuttle people to the slopes take others for a set price? Which hotels should I call?

Thanks...Austin, Texas
