For all the complainers, a good chunk of you are the problem trying to time the exact day. For instance, Saturday was a great day, just as much snow, no lift lines more than a few minutes tops, all day and tons of beach fun. Next time get up early (lots of parking available before 8) or don't bitch when everyone like you shows up to the only place open expecting it all to yourself.
So many crybabies... If you really thought that a powder day on the only open mountain in Colorado wasn't going to be crowded, then you must be new to skiing... All in all, it was a great day. Never waited in more than 5 minute lines at Zuma all day. Most of mountain was ski'd off by 11 or noon (front side seemed to be done by 10), but there was still powder to be found by the East Wall
So you say skiing in Colorado is over rated? compaired to what? All the other ski areas that are closed? I hear Killington VT is still open. All you gapers should go there. plenty of awesome groomers to be had.
If you came up from denver and arrived any time past 8:30am the only person you can blame is yourself for not waking up early enough. Quit your bitching and buy a bc setup. I got up to the top of peak 10 and saw on 2 other lines minus my friends in 6" of pow.
It's funny to me how many people get defensive on here about "their" mountain. I don't care if you were on the first chair, everything was skied out by 10, and the lines were backed up for days.
Not bothering with the Basin next year. Not until it gets dropped from the Epic pass.
