I spent 48 hours in Champagny last month when I was skiing the giant Paradiski Region so I got a feel for the place without really knowing it in great depth.

What i liked was the great location with the vast terrain of la plagne right next to you and the spectacular 200 person double-decker Vanoise Express cable car link to the Les Arcs terrain, with as much skiing again, right next door. So really it's in the heart of the area and one of the few places where you can stay and ski all the way to either end of the 250 miles of piste and get back in a day.

We visited a couple of nice cafe restaurants in Champagny ityself, there were a lot of Brits there, some of the buildings were original farmhouses and alot of the new building was quite tasteful and much better than older parts of La Plagne.
