    Pros: Close to Portland, family friendly

    Cons: Ice base - Quintessential early New England skiing

    Our first visit to Shawnee. The base as of early Jan 09 was ice with blown snow cover. By mid day is was easier to find ice than powder. That should change... Full review

    Great family skiing

    Pros: Family friendly

    Cons: Current conditions limit full mountain access

    Mt Abrams is a great hill for families with children learning to ski or have a variety of skills. Staff are not pretentious and the environment is relaxed. Current conditions (Dec 08)... Full review
