The previous comment is correct in that it doesn't matter if you are on a snowboard or a ski - out of control is out of control. If you can't be in control and are being reckless you shouldn't be on the mountain. I wish that resorts would have a no tolerance policy. I have seen so many places issue warning after warning and do nothing becuase they don't want to "alienate" regulars. There shouldn't even be a warning. Your warning is on the back of your lift ticket and posted everywhere. If someone is recklessly out of control and crashes into my family...............
I agree with the earlier post on Vail. It is what I would recommend for someone coming from Europe on what might be a one time trip to the states although it isn't really my favorite resort in Colorado becuase the town doesn't really have "authentic" character. It is the largest and has the most varied terrain and you really can't go wrong skiing there. If you want a more unique experience go with Aspen, Steamboat. If you want to be able to ski at several different resorts you can try staying in Summit County. There are 4 resorts in the area (Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mtn, and A-Basin) that are only about 30-45 minutes apart or you can stay in the city of Dillon which is central to all of them. Vail is also only about 1 to 1.5 hours away as well.
Thanks for the link to the white gold card. That is a fantastic deal if you can travel around. I would definitely go with Bittersweet if you live that close. Good luck.
I will probably go with Swiss Valley. The other place was Bittersweet. Swiss Valley isn't as nice as bittersweet but 3 season passes for $319 is a steal. They have a special deal at Swiss Valley for first time season pass holders and our son is just learning so i don't think it will matter. Next year we will probably go with passes to Bittersweet. I have not heard of the MI White Gold Cards? What are they?
