Driving in SLC won't be a problem, but many of the canyon roads require chains or cables. Why not just buy a set of cables for the 2 wheel drive car? They're only about $20. Going up I80 to Park City, Deer Valley & Canyons is a huge highway and usually clear, but can get nasty in the late afternoons. Big & Little Cottonwood Canyons almost always require chains if it's snowing.
Have a mahhhhvelous time...I used to live there and LOVED Solitude. You can park, climb up the ramp & be on the lift...then ski back to your car & go. Bliss!

As a Utah native, I am embarrassed by the silly "private club" law. As if that keeps people from drinking! How silly can the lawmakers be??? (Ruht roh...'guess they are pretty silly!)
Anyway, I took 3 friends to a bar in Park City. We had to buy a "membership" to have a cocktail cuz' drinking is evil...but it was O.K. for cigarette smoke to be blown in our faces! Yuck!
Sorry, sorry, but you gave me a forum...I also cannot believe how smokers just throw their trash (butts) on the beautiful new snow. Cigarette butts are trash...put them wear trash belongs.
