If you are a skier and know the park well, or can memorize maps, and can somehow skip the lift ticket and cafeteria lines, Winter Park is awesome. ... good snow, nice trails, and lots of acreage to cover.
If you're a boarder... not so great. Too many flat spots!! Even on the blue trails. I basically paid $70-something for a lift ticket to go hiking.
If you're keen to get out there and ride... also not so great. The place was mobbed. The lift ticket lines were insane. Plus people were really pushy trying to get to the front... need better crowd control here guys. Ditto for the crappeteria lines.
And if you get lost easily... FOR GOD'S SAKE DO NOT GO TO WINTER PARK!! This place is huge, and the trails are not well labeled. I ended up on some little side trail as the lifts closed. I had to hike back to the main lodge... took about 1/2 hour. Didn't see ski patrol at all. After the spring thaw, the place must be littered with the bodies of tourists who got lost and froze to death.
