Vail has some of the best and most varried terrain but be preparred to pay for it. I gave it a lower family friendly rating because an "average" family of four would have to refinance their house in order to spend a week here. If you do it right and don't plan on buying $20/pp lunches on the mountian and $40 parking then it's not all bad. The lodging is also marginally more than other resorts in the area. I'm not saying it's not worth it but it is expensive and for the price breckenridge or keystone are a little bit more reasonable. The terrain is also not the steepest around but you can find some runs that will get your heart pumping. As for groomers, they have some of the best I've ridden if thats what your into.
