Went to Vail for a day in January. The free parking situation was a little confusing, and the free bus only came every half hour which was a little inconvenient. The snow was great, but was already tracked out by 10ish am. Lodges on the hill were really crowded, would recommend having lunch early or late. The snow in the trees stayed amazing till late in the day. No lines to have to wait through, tons of terrain. Overall a great place to ski at, but would recommend on hill lodging to avoid the parking/shuttle.
