There is a lot of back and forth on vail but I will have to say that I absolutely love it. It is definitely not the cheapest place to ski, but if you are willing to spend the money, it is a fabulous place for an overall vacation. I don't think there is a resort that can match the overall level of skiing, town, apres ski, luxury and friendliness. The bowls are some of the best in Colorado, and you don't' have to heliski or hike to hit them. The snow is great and the terrain is varied. They have by far the most terrain open in the area with over a thousand acres compared to the 200 too 300 that you see at most of the other resorts. Once again, its not cheap, but sometimes the finer things in life cost a little bit more.
