big mountain, great terrain
pay for parking, very touristy and expensive
I like to ride the back country and Vail is the closest thing that a resort can offer. The bowls are incredibly large and on a powder day it is easy to catch fresh snow all day. During tourist season, because they have such a large mountain, the lines spread out over the whole resort. As long as you stay away from the front side, you can easily get as many runs in as you want. In my opinion nothing compares to a quality day at Vail. Even the front side is great if you are into groomers. They take great care of their runs. The front side is not too steep, and as much as I want the whole mountain to myself, it is great for all skill levels. Plan on packing a lunch though, because they charge an arm and a leg for everything.
