too bad Steamboat hosted one of the most 'extreme' contests in Colorado last year in Chute 1. Sorry you missed it

Let's just say steamboat will never host any "extreme" skiing contest. They simply don't have the terrain. Any steep runs are short lived.

it has some of the best terrain in Colorado. but the more people who think its flat the less will come here and the more for me. so talk all you want. those who hate can stay away.

we definitely have steeps at Steamboat, and without a doubt the best snow(5% moisture "wild" snow) in the world, and arguably the best tree skiing in the world. One of the greatest things about this area in my mind is also that the gnar is hidden and as you become a true local you start to meet people and find the really, really good stuff. Those who knock it truly show they have no clue.
