Steamboat is now owned by the premier ski resort operator in North America. So why is the grooming of the current spring conditions the worst I have ever skied? In the past, there has always been a great variety of advanced intermediate and advanced runs groomed to make the icy early morning snow reasonable to ski. The past few days, there have been 3-4 advanced runs groomed and 2 of those were closed o the public because of racing. What has been groomed has been terrible for the most part. Most of the runs don't seem like they have been groomed but just driven over by sno cats and the afternoon slush pressed down so it could freeze solid overnight! I've skied a lot of spring conditions and this is about the worst I've skied on.
