I have always been a huge fan of Solvista as it has been a great place to take the family and enjoy the outdoors. What happened?
They sold the parking lot. No parking and the lodge reminds me of an old YMCA. Could not even sit down for lunch on my last two trips and the food was cold off the grill. Imagine your local YMCA taking over a ski area and that is what they have done to Solvista. They can't be putting any money back in to this place. The lodge is an absolute dump and the fire alarms went off twice due to improper ventilation over the grills. It made me think what other code issues do they have and is my family safe in the place? Parking? None! Hope you like waiting for a shuttle. A nightmare for the kids just trying to get them to the slope and then you have no room to get them ready. Forget about it - Spend the extra $15 on lift tickets in Winter Park and end up actually enjoying the day and having room to sit down.
