We had 6 skiing days staying in Snowmass, and used 4 of them in Snowmass itself. It was our first experience of skiing ouside europe, so it took some time to get used to the ungroomed runs prevalent in Colorado. This is written from the perspective of someone visiting from Europe.

Although the resort is much smaller than european ones, the terrain is more varied with different types of piste (groomed, ungroomed, through the trees etc). Some of the ungroomed blues were great fun (Sheer Bliss), the various blacks down to Campground were more like european reds, and the Cirque Headwall, although not difficult, had a really wild mountain feel to it. Hardest skiing was on Hanging Valley Wall, and then finding a way through the trees below it.

Lift queues were non-existent, and none of the pistes were busy. Lifts opened at 8:30, and we often had the whole piste to ourselves for the first few runs.

Overall a really good week. The buses to Aspen were free and efficient, and Aspen was on the same lift ticket, so that was an option. We spent one day in Aspen and one day in Aspen Highlands out of our 6 days.

Resort itself had all the facilities that you would expect.
