I brought my two kids , age 12 and 14, to Sol Vista for a three day spring break. We had a great time, even though the temperatures were in the 40s and 50s. We are from Nashville, so I wanted to go somewhere with good beginner and intermediate trails, and someplace where the altitude would not hurt us. Sol Vista was perfect for us. No lift lines at all, we usually had the Terrain Park area to ourselves. 1000 ft vert. was fine for us lowlanders, and it was near impossible to loose someone with each mountain served by one lift. Snow conditions were great considering the spring conditions. It was nice being at a resort during spring break that was not overrun with college kids puking on the chair lifts. The lodge at the base was not overcrowded either. With my military discount, we were skiing with three for the price of one at nearby Winter Park. Also recommend reserving rentals at Breeze online, we got ours in Idaho Springs, very quick and a good price.
