Tom, you really do have no idea what you're talking about. Telluride snow is the same snow as Wolf Creek, San Juan plaster. Telluride is a neat town for the ultra rich and trendy(which, being a judgemental vacationer probably suits you), the mountain there is great but I wouldn't leave Steamboats 5% moisture snow and perfectly spaced aspens for anything. There's also a maturity that prevails in Steamboat, in the culture, on the mountain. Many residents of steamboat did their time in Summit, or in Telluride, but, they're here now, not because it sucks, but because it has that certain almost intangible 'something' that none of the others have. No resort has it all, there are steeper areas, but do they have perfectly spaced trees like Steamboat? Nope. Champagne Powder snow? Nope. Are there steeps here at Steamboat? Yep. Summit and Telly are great for trendy bro-tastic party time, Steamboat's where you come to live, and never leave. It's also an interesting fact that more former Olympians live in Steamboat than in any other town in North America. That does include Billy Kidd and Nelson Carmichael, you think these guys stick around because the skiing sucks? Doubt it.
