I have a high altitude training center in almont Colorado 45 minutes west and have been skiing Monarch for 25 years. You might wonder with Crested Butte only 15 miles north of me.
Its simple really...customer service and GREAT POWDER. When the season opened some years ago I was on the furthest east run and ran into a herd of Elk...Oh Yeah and to see the continental divide from an Eagles point of view tops the moment.. You can see Venus during the day and feel the earth turn. Almost always no lines and I know everybody by name and how about knowing me by name. It has it all. During a blizzard and chest deep snow off the cliffs is parachuting. You keep looking for the dream snow well dude here it is!
