What a wonderful ski area! Did my 2nd and 3rd days here this year and had a blast. They have great trees, great steep moguls, hike-to chutes and bowls. Vast expanses to enjoy up high, and amazing late season snow! Was here on a powder day in late April and most of the snow was as soft as March snow other places. Feels uncrowded because it is so big, almost no lift lines at all. Gotta love it.
Huge expanse above treeline fun to explore!
Only 1 high-speed lift.

Skied Loveland for the 1st time this year (2days) and we were very impressed! Bought a “4pack” of lift tickets in the pre-season for $269 - that is 2 people skiing for 2 days for under $270! Great value! Mountain has a wide variety of terrain from snow cat serviced steeps to open high alpine flats to everything in between. Snow was great at the end of March and wind was mild, but could see how it could be an issue up high on the wrong day. Not as much groomed as other areas, but seems like the wind must fill in the bumps higher up as the bumps were not bad for the time of year. Basically no lift lines on a Thursday and Friday in late March. Rental experience for my son was fast and smooth. I don’t get the “rude people” comments in the other reviews- everyone seemed very friendly and more of an old school skier vibe. Seems like the relative difficulty trail rating system here is a bit different than at someplace like Breck (some of the blues here would likely be single diamonds at Breck).
Great value, lots of high alpine terrain, no lift lines, friendly chill vibe
I-70 traffic, must commute to it

Loveland is a good ski area with great value. Not fancy but has the basic amenities. Very good beginner terrain, moderate intermediate terrain and good advanced terrain. The skiing off the Continental Divide is great when conditions are right. Some tree skiing can be found but if you are looking for tree skiing, I'd try somewhere else.
Simple in a good way. Plus when conditions are right their upper mountain terrain is great.
Lack of groomed blue runs and often windy/cold.

Fun around every turn, between the natural terrain and man made features, there is always something to jump off, bonk or jib. In addition to having some excellent double black runs off lift 9, they also have a separate beginner area, with magic carpets, 2 lifts, and its own rental/ski shop/ and bar/restaurant. This helps keep the crowds a bit more spread out, and also keeps the more advanced slopes clearer.
Awesome terrain, no attitude
I'm not there now

I wish they would groom more of the blue runs. When we were there, they really only groomed the greens and everything else had moguls. Particularly challenging when you get a bunch of new snow and you can't even see all of them. For an intermediate skier, would be nice to have some smooth blues.
Affordable, long season
very little grooming, windy

Ongoing issue with line cutters, rude and abusive behavior from skiers, and complacent unfriendly lifters. The terrain is nice, social skills of deal-seekers is atrocious. Think Walmart.

Great place to get early season laps. I wish I could say more, but I only got a day and a half in mid-November. Hopefully one day I’ll get an opportunity to ski Loveland later in the season.
Excellent early season option.

Loveland is great. I grew up on a small family owned mountain, and Loveland is the same vibes. All of the staff is friendly, and you can’t beat the quick trip from Denver and getting to skip the tunnel and/or Loveland pass. The Rathskeller pub is always a vibe. Parking is free and easy and the snow is great. Love Loveland.
Easy access, free parking, great bar, not crowded - family owned and friendly staff. Great snow.
Sometimes windy, i70 still sucks even pre-tunnel.

My family and I honestly love Loveland. The snow is always fresh and terrain is nice and wide so it never feels crowded. The best thing is with it being just if 70 if traffic is horrible at the tunnel and the pass is closed, it's much easier to pull off and get the day started at Loveland rather than waiting another hour or two in traffic. It will feel smaller than other runs say at Winter Park or Breck but if you're going from the top on a pow day it doesn't get much better.
Always great snow, close to Denver, never long lines mean you can go non stop
Runs are shorter compared to other resorts in the area

I had an amazing time at Loveland this last year. Loveland will provide fun for families and individuals alike, across a variety of different levels of experience. There are plenty of beginner and intermediate runs and the views are hard to beat. Beginners can expect WIDE greens and rather quick blues. You will have fun both on the mountain and off, as there are great food and beverage options. However, come with a designated driver, as there is no lodging at the ski area.
Quick Lines, Friendly Staff, Wide Runs, Nice Bar
No Lodging, Horrible Traffic, Long Lines for Food
