Alongside “El Rio de las Animan Perdidas” or the River of Lost Souls (now the Animas River), and known by the locals as “Purgatory”, Durango Mountain Resort is a year-round destination whose winters feature consistent snowfall followed by bluebird days. Durango Mountain Resort offers a vertical drop of 2,029 feet (618 meters), 1,360 acres of skier and rider accessible terrain with an annual snowfall of 260 inches (660 centimeters). The terrain is 20 percent beginner, 45 percent intermediate, and 35 percent advanced to expert, and also features five terrain parks to entertain skiers and riders of all ages and abilities.
