Wow! is all I can say about Durango Mountain. Beginner? What a great place to start skiing/snowboarding. Expert? Take Lengends lift up and treat yourself to a variety of black diamond/difficult terrain. If you have children, take them up to Animas City, a little terrain park disguised as a cute little kidfriendly city. You can always expect great snow and good discount prices on lift tickets. A very helpful ski/snowboard school will provide a great, safe place for your kids while you tear up the mountain. Lift service...amazing. I will diffinately be returning to Durango for future skiing.
And Lodging? Stay On the mountain so you can just walk outside for skiing, or find a place downtown for great resturaunts and shopping. While we enjoyed Durango Mountain, we stayed at the DoubleTree downtown which was very helpful for us. Try eating at Season's grille, also downtown. Very Delicious. Or take the whole family to Jbo's pizza and rib co. for a tasty family dinner.
Not a Durango fan? Crested Butte Colorado is also a very family friendly place to ski. We skied there three years and never had much trouble with crowds. Both Durango and Crested Butte Colorado were very enjoyable for our family. I certainly hope this review was helpful.
