  • Purgatory Passes for Sale

    Next year's Purgatory Pass is already on sale. Passes for Durango Mountain Resort are discounted if you buy them now. Adult passes for all season are $529, while children's passes are $229 (or $119 when purchased with an adult pass). Weekday and Flex passes are also available. The All-Season Pass offers unlimited skiing and snowboarding at Purgatory Mountain along with summer activities like the Alpine Slide, mountain biking and hiking. Full Article

  • Dog Days at Durango

    Just returned from a few days at Durango Mountain Resort, formerly known as Purgatory ski area. It was like a festive beach party with warm sunshine and fast and furious skiing. The mountain was so welcoming to freestylers from around the state, there for their championship competition in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Development division. The terrain park was huge fun. There was never a lift line and everyone was happy and enjoying the snow. Full Article

  • Storms Leave Snow In Utah and Colorado

    Powder is pounding Utah and Colorado. Snowbird has received around a foot and a half of snow with more expected this week. "A 16-inch storm like the one that came through Sunday is both important to help continue building a base and provides the fun powder conditions for which Little Cottonwood Canyon is known," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar.   • Denver Gets Walloped, Ski Resorts Escape

    Denverites were hit hard for the second time in a little more than a week as a major winter storm rolled through the area, knocking out power and shutting down the airport again. The ski areas, meanwhile, stayed pretty dry. Full Article

  • Holidays Bring Snow to Silverton

    Santa's sleigh hit the high peaks of Silverton (see upper left corner of picture) and came in for a landing and a few turns on the mountain over the holidays. He brought plenty of snow with him as the southern Colorado resort was pounded with over four feet. Full Article

    Phew. Heavy sigh. The snow is back. There was a bit of a lull between storms and a few folks were nervous! But now the ground is again covered in white, with storm after storm in the forecast up until the holidays. Resorts are managing with the help of Mother Nature and snowmaking machines. Full Article
