Caption: Sunday Afternoon’s Snow in Crested Butte : : : : : : : : Hi All—Monday’s shot is of the snow showers working their way down Whetstone Mountain on Sunday afternoon during the Bronco’s game. While conditions looked sunny in Gunni, Crested Butte saw clouds and moisture much of Sunday afternoon. Saturday was a sunny, but breezy affair in the Gunnison Country. I made it to Hartman Rocks for an early afternoon spin on the decomposed granite single tracks of Rocky Ridge, Buddy Bear, Josie’s, Gateway, Lower Luge and what we used to call The Back of Hogs Back, while the rest of my family headed for the Gunnison Rec center for a kiddo rendezvous at the pool. Fun was had by all! : : : : : : : : Things around Crested Butte Mountain Resort will continue to be busy this week with everyone working to get ready for the ski season opener on November 25th. The year-round crews will continue to get after it to wrap up their projects (especially the on-mountain projects that need to be completed before snow closes the mountain) and the seasonal managers and supervisors continue to trickle in, looking to get up to speed with what’s new at the resort this winter, as well as prep for their incoming staffs. As of last week, the Ice Bar Restaurant remodel was still on track for a mid-November completion. The snow makers were setting up their hoses and guns in the base area, as well, letting us know that they’re ready to blow as soon the weather and calendar allow. : : : : : : : : I bet you’re starting to think seriously about your ski vacation this winter . . . you ought to be planning on making it to Crested Butte!
