Caption: A Fabulous Weekend of Fall Color and Super Single Track in Crested Butte! : : : : : : : : What a weekend in Crested Butte, huh? Clear blue skies, temps topping out in the mid sixties, fall colors still hanging in there—it was great! Sunday morning I made it out for a ride on the Dyke Trail. The leaves were nice in spots like the one in today’s first shot. That’s Ty “fighter” Minnick rolling down the Dyke Trail, backed by the changing aspen, with a bit of the Dyke, itself, sticking up in the background. Ty and I were both commenting on how it would have felt to finish Saturday’s Crested Butte Classic with the lung-busting, stinger climbs that the Dyke Trail serves up (to say nothing of the climb back over Kebler Pass to CB when you’re done with the single track) in the big ride. But I guess if you can handle #403, #401, Deer Creek and Strand, what’s the big deal about throwing in the Dyke Trail for a cool down? Like I’ll ever know . . . : : : : : : : : Get the gorgeous fall weather while you can . . . the forecast is showing the next round of moisture blowing in Tuesday afternoon.
