Caption: Color Check on the Other Side of Kebler : : : : : : : : Monday’s second shot is of one of the Beckwiths and is a pretty good representation of the fall color on the back side of Kebler Pass. While the colors are a bit muted compared to what I remember seeing in past years, some groves of aspen are just snow starting to go gold. We saw some haze in the valleys around CB, especially Saturday, likely from the latest round of California wildfires. It seemed to dissipate Sunday . . . hopefully fire crews have gotten the upper hand out there. : : : : : : : : There were plenty of leaf watchers and photographers on Kebler Pass Road, checking out the colors. If you are up there and are stopping to take in the views, please remember to pull your vehicle at least partially off the road, especially when parking in a blind corner. There was one gentleman who managed to not only park his truck fully on the road in such a corner, but also set up his tripod on the edge of the other lane, so that you were almost touching his backside and his truck at the same time with your rearview mirrors as you squeezed through. Maybe continuing on to a safe place to park and then walking back with your camera would be a better idea? Doing so will let everyone enjoy the colors along Kebler Road that much more.
