Awesome, rugged mountain. Felt the most like old school CO mountain town I've experienced since the Vail and Alterra boom of the last 10-15 years. Its worth the longer trip, especially if you're lucky enough to get deep powder.
Great variety of terrain, might be the best in bounds steep and extreme stuff in CO, not crowded
Bottom half of the mountain is almost exclusively green runs, which isn't ideal for more experienced skiers/riders

Amazing resort without the crowds. Very long runs which I LOVE! The T bar terrain is always a blast. The mountain and town atmosphere definitely has character and uniqueness unlike many other vail resorts that feel very commercial and uninspiring. The views are spectacular and breathtaking. I wish there were more tree runs and forests and definitely less rocks. Definitely watch out for the rocks. Snow coverage in late march is BARE but overall it’s an awesome mountain with an old school vibe, great people, awesome town that is quite remote with wide open wilderness right outside town. I’m coming to be in the mountains and the wild not a commercialized skiing Disney world. Crested Butte don’t ever change!!!
Short lines, great atmosphere

We love it. We have enjoyed Breck and Winter Park, and this is our favorite. It is quaint, challenging and fun. We live in Houston, so the small town vibe is a big plus. We are planning a trip back already, and we just left a week ago. If you need a great snowboard instructor there ask for Otter. He is one of the best in the state.
Short Lift Lines, and challenging terrain
small town environment. a plus for me, but not necessarily for all.

Best expert terrain in Colorado. The North Face is an absolute playground for those up to the challenge.

We visited in Jan 23. The snow conditions were excellent. Lots of intermediate runs and most regularly groomed. Fantastic free buses into Crested Butte which is needed to get to restaurants and bars.
Great for intermediates and nice quiet slopes
Limited on mountain dining

I took 1/2 day private lesson from Angie and she helped me with my skiing form which helped me not to burn my thighs out. I think I am going to be able to ski several more years now.
Beautiful wide ski runs-not crowded
Further to drive to

They do not know how to treat teenagers... They hand out gold fish treats with carrots and treat a 12 yr old like they are 4 yrs old .... worst ski instructors I’ve ever seen. Stand around and not teach or instruct and charge 200 dollars a day wow.... Soo if you want a day care great place. Soo want to learn to ski go to Keystone great place to have your teenagers learn how.....

I've skied all over, although my "home" is Tahoe. The rockies in general don't get the powder days that Tahoe does, but the powder does stay better if you can find stashes. I had a great time at Crested Butte, the town is charming, the bars are fun and the skiing is great! I seriously regret leaving after a week in CB to head to Breck. Crested Butte is on my list of "will return" resorts. I loved it. Big time. The views along with Telluride approach the those of the Alps. Funny, I didn't realize it, but I'm wearing a Crested Butte shirt right now! lol
Wicked Terrain!
None really specific to Crested Butte

This is the third straight year we've come to Crested Butte to ski. We love the resort and the town. We're hooked. Three of the five of us have learned to ski here. The instructors are tremendous. The runs are terrific. There is something for everyone regardless of skill level. The town residents and store owners/employees are friendly and welcoming. We always rent our skis and boots from Butte & Co. and I can't recommend them highly enough. Great customer service, counsel and a fun little store. #burythebutte #skicb
excellent instructors, friendly staff, great runs,
