I am a 57 year old female from the East coast. I had never really skied until visiting Aspen this year with my boyfriend's college ski group. I took 4 days of group lessons on Buttermilk and had a ball. My instructor was wonderful, and I had no more than 2 other ladies in my "group". One day it was just me, basically a private lesson. Our usual "run" was one mile on all greens of varying types. I learned alot, and loved every minute of it. I would recommend Aspen and this mountain to anyone who wants to learn to ski, or is still a beginner and wants to hone their skills in beautifully groomed looong runs. Only con; if you want to call it that, is an abundance of children. But of course, it is a great learners mountain. Though I love to see the kids flying down the mountain and having great fun, it does make it a bit more difficult when trying to pay attention to yourself and others. But that said, if you have kids that want to learn to ski...take them to Aspen/Buttermilk ...the perfect place to learn and learn to love skiing!
