It is nov 29th 2007 and there are three runs open on man made ice. The worst conditions in years. Breck is great if you enjoy people skiing into you, long lift lines, sub-zero temps and high winds.
On a good season, Breck is mediocre at best. Mostly considered a beginners area and a joke among other ski areas. It is also the most crowded per acre due to hoards of front range day skiers. The terrain park (when it is finally open) is usually top notch, but if you are looking for challenging runs and powder, look elsewhere. It is a good place if you are an alcoholic as there a multitude of bars with nightly fist fights for entertainment. Definitly a better town for parting than skiing or riding.
The food in town is middle of the road or worse and overpriced for what you get. This town is filled with trinket shops and condos and the advertised "victorian charm" has long been smothered by overdevelopment. This place is good for maybe one visit if you have never skiied in the rockies before. Otherwise mediocre and dissapointing.
