When I first went to Breck , it seemed like many other great places to ski in the west. I liked it, but would be just as happy at keystone, vail, deer valley, alta, park city or somewhere similar. Then a funny thing happened. The more I skied Breck, the better I liked it.
The thing that really separates Breck from other places is the ski school. I had been stuck at intermediate level for years. In the first class the instructor literally transformed the entire class in the first two hours. I told my ski partner that we had gotten our money's worth (for a multi day lessen package) after the first hour. (and lessons aren't cheap.) The classes also serve to show you parts of the mountain that you just would not see without some guideance. We thought we had seen 90% of Breck before that first class, but after the package of lessons we realized we had only skied about 10% of the place. Bottom line is if they can make me into a skier, they can probably make you into one too. Dig deep. Take a class. Take ten classes. You won't regret it. - jrw
