Full review

The resort is easy to get to with Eagle Airport only 30 minutes away and Denver about 2 hrs (both easy drives). There is also an abundance of luxury lodging (hotels and condos) that will satisfy those looking for high end accomodations. It is also a big mountain with impressive vertical. People looking for no hassle transportation and a nice place to stay will like Beaver Creek but those looking for a unique vacation spot will be disappointed. Beaver Creek is a modern purpose built village and lacks the charm of a real town like Aspen, Telluride, Sun Valley, etc. I was surprised to find so many slow lifts (Rose Bowl Area) and very little good on-mountain dining at a resort that markets itself as a luxury destination. With respect to the skiing - it is ok and steeper than I remember. The Grouse Mountain Area has a lot of good mogul runs. But comparable or better skiing can be found in places with much more charm. In summary, it is a convenient ski resort (I don't minimize the importance of this to families) but there are many more interesting places to go.
