I haven't been to every ski area in North America, but I've been to a hell of a lot of them, and ABasin is at the very top, along with Jackson, Alta, Snowbasin, Jay and one or two more.A Basin is just about the skiing, no messin' around with pretty, cash-sucking base villages, a'la' Beaver Creek, no juvenile "terrain" parks (the whole mountain is a terrain park!), just snow, steeps, and smiles. The staff is friendly, my 7 and 11 year olds loved the place, and the altitude gives it the best snow in the Summit County - Vail - Aspen area. The place has an Alta vibe - enjoy the act of skiing!
