I've been skiing Colo. areas from Wolf Creek to Steamboat Springs all my life, and I'll always call A-Basin the best all around skiing. Here's why. 47 degree slopes off the "alleys" run over to Gauthier! I don't see that at other areas. Sure, Winter Park and Breck has some steeps but you can't beat the heart-pounding rush and the absolutley STEEP!! runs there. Also, if you want to make the pilgramage to the east wall your pucker factor will be in full swing. Or take a hike up to the north pole where 200cm skis take up the entire width of the chutes there. Those runs along with all the double D's at A-basin is what makes it different from almost all the other "resorts" along the front range. If you want bumps as big a VW bugs, Mary Jane is for you. If you want super long black runs then by all means go to "The Birds of Prey" runs at Beaver Creek. But if you want the most exciting, kick ass Dbl-D's, beautiful views with friendly people, enexpensive passes and food, live music, outlandish races and an all around great time, the Legend is where it's at. P.S. "If you can ski A-Basin. Then you can ski anywhere in the world"
