Valle Nevado Transportation

Air Travel:

Santiago-Benitez International Airport (SCL) receives numerous flights from around the world. The airport is 17 kilometres (11 miles) northwest of Santiago city.

From North America: Direct from Miami, Atlanta, and Dallas. The airlines offering those flights are American, Delta, and LAN Airlines. AirCanada offers connecting flights from Toronto to Miami and Atlanta.

From South/Central America: LAN Airlines is the major Chilean carrier and offers regular, direct flights between Santiago and Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil.

From Europe: Indirect flights (stops in U.S) with Iberia Airlines, Swiss, bmi, American Airlines, Aer Lingus, Air France, Aerolineas Argentinas, Lan Airlines, DELTA, and TAP Portugal.

It is also possible to book a helicopter flight between Santiago Airport and Valle Nevado for a maximum of six passengers: a one-way trip costs $2200 per flight regardless of the number of passengers. For more information, contact Valle Nevado tourist office.

By Car:

Valle Nevado ski resort is 60 kilometres (37 miles) northeast of Santiago Airport (SCL), right in the middle of the Andes Mountains.

From Santiago Airport: First take the urban highway Costanera Norte, Av. Kennedy and follow Av. las Condes until the road to Farellones. Continue until curve 40, where you take the detour to Valle Nevado that takes about 15 minutes. (Use of car chains is mandatory on mountain roads).

Ground Transportation:

Valle Nevado run shuttle buses for a maximum of six people. A return trip from Santiago Airport or a city hotel to Valle Nevado costs $350 USD ($58 per person, based on six passengers).

Ski Total offer shuttle buses between Santiago and Valle Nevado returning the same day or different days. A day trip costs $40 USD per person, leaving from Santiago at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. A roundtrip over more than one day costs $74 USD per person.

Other shuttle companies include KL Adventure and Manzur Expediciones.

Getting Around:

You won't need a car to get around Valle Nevado village. Valle Nevado is part of the Three Valleys of the Andes, which include El Colorado and La Parva, and visitors may purchase an interconnected ticket to ski all three.
