Ski Portillo Overview

Ski Portillo

Portillo is South America's oldest and most famous ski resort. The famous skier Jean-Claude Killy won his first gold medals in Portillo in the 1966 World Championships. Located on the edge of Inca Lake in a truly gorgeous setting, Portillo is 100 percent above tree line. Portillo is revered by advanced/expert skiers for its steep, off-piste terrain and good hiking, and powder that can last for days. With just one hotel and no town, the ambiance lends itself to a lot of camaraderie, and the focus is as much on skiing and snowboarding as life off the slopes.
