El Colorado Ski Center is a cone-shaped peak with wide-open fields. It sits between Valle Nevado and La Parva and is closest to the Chilean capital, Santiago. El Colorado is an older resort popular with beginners and intermediates, although advanced skiers love the resort’s eastern side, which receives huge dumps of snow, and the steep chutes that face Valle Nevado. Visitors may purchase an interconnect ticket with the two other resorts.
Santiago-Benitez International Airport (SCL) receives numerous flights from around the world. The airport is 17 kilometres (11 miles) northwest of Santiago city.
From North America: Direct from Miami, Atlanta, and Dallas. The airlines offering those flights are American, Delta, and LAN Airlines. AirCanada offers connecting flights from Toronto to Miami and Atlanta.
From South/Central America: LAN Airlines is the major Chilean carrier and offers regular, direct flights between Santiago and Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil.
From Europe: Indirect flights (stops in U.S) with Iberia Airlines, Swiss, bmi, American Airlines, Aer Lingus, Air France, Aerolineas Argentinas, Lan Airlines, DELTA, and TAP Portugal.
El Colorado is the closest ski resort to Santiago city and airport. Set 38 kilometres (24 miles) east of the capital, El Colorado is in the heart of the Andes Mountains.
From Santiago Airport: First take the urban highway Costanera Norte, Av. Kennedy and follow Av. las Condes until the road to Farellones. El Colorado is five kilometres (three miles) further. The use of car chains is mandatory on mountain roads.
Ski Total offer shuttle buses between Santiago and El Colorado returning the same day or different days. A day trip costs $40 USD per person, leaving from Santiago at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. A roundtrip over more than one day costs $74 USD per person.
Another shuttle company serving El Colorado is KL Adventure
You won't need a car to get around El Colorado village. The resort is part of the Three Valleys of the Andes, which include Valle Nevado and La Parva, and visitors may purchase an interconnected ticket to ski all three.
