Full review

Val de Nuria is a historic religious centre near the shrine of the Virgin of Nuria, accessed by a rack railway, and surrounded by a ring of high mountains in the Girona Pyrenees.

The setting is spectacular but the skiing is not the priority, although they’ve been doing it here for 75 years. The skiable vertical is a little less than 1000 feet and at best there’s ten miles of runs, most of it easy or intermediate although there is a 2000 foot long black.

There’s limited uplift, but it does include a modern quad and the altitude, backed up by limited snow making, means there’s usually at least some snow to enjoy.
