Bluebird day again. Xmas crowds are building, so go where the people aren't. No lines on Edge. Starting to get icy in areas as no significant recent snowfall. Hopefully the coming days of rain won't do too much damage.
Bombing when we arrived, so until midday only a few runs open. Top of hill had at least a foot of fresh powder, Currie Bowl was deep in the early afternoon. Snow became a little heavier half way down, thin and slushy at bottom but fair coverage; not rocks and running fast. GoGood day
Conditions on the weekend were better than expected. They are doing a great job of retaining what snow they have on the trails and keeping them well groomed. Pretty good over-all for early season; now Mother Nature bring on the snow!
Upper elevations are not bad if the cloud lifts and the light is good. White Pass and Lizard Bowl have some good snow, the other bowls are closed. Below these the skiing is marginal. Very wet and sticky snow a lot like spring. Lots of brown patches and some areas completely bald. Not normal for Fernie this time of year, they need a good dump and things will improve significantly.
