Hard Packed

Let's be honest, it's getting tedious putting a positive spin on this ski season. It is crap everywhere. Sunshine hasn't had any substantial new snow for a long time. The best you'll get are decent groomers until they're scraped off mid-morning. Thereafter, you are dealing with very hard pack and sections of ice. If that is fun for you, then knock yourself out.

Sun came out around noon and made for a nice day overall. No new snow, obviously, but there was still decent coverage even up on Divide. Standish is getting very scraped. Wawa was nice and the blues on Goat are in great shape.

Crazy conditions! Once you get out of the busy highways, there's no more ice, and once in the woods, powder is on point. The Back country is a must, did it this morning and coming back for desert.

No off piste skiing. All fossilized snow. Only one piste off Red and a couple off Grey to ski. Paradise OK and can ski to bottom on Main Run Pistes are in reasonably OK condition considering how long it's been since it snowed, but beware occasional rock or slick icy patch.

Skied today and the sun was wonderful but conditions obviously not any better. Ski from 10-2pm, best time. Again, very icy spots, be careful. When you do find a little dusting, it's nice!!

great surprise! totally unexpected 10 inch claimed. probably around 8 in most spaces. I got there at 9, very little untouched powder was still on main runs. the glades are really great, with lots of snow and good opportunities to get out there and find great stuff. The black runs were in good shape in the beginning, but the resort pumps a lot of people through the groomed runs - they start to get icy quickly in spots, and by late day most of them that weren't moguls were scraped pretty clean.

Good snow. It's not perfect but fun. All the haters can drive to whistler and leave Cypress alone.

Freezing rain overnight ruined all the good snow. Heavy snow under a crust. Soooo many people. 15-20 minutes wait for 2-3 minutes of riding.
