January's World Snowboarding Championships in Arosa, Switzerland kick off a whirlwind year for pro snowboarder Crispin Liscomb. The Championships will be the first in a 10-week run of contests that has the Quebec City native and Whistler local flipping 900s between Switzerland, the U.S., Italy, Japan, Korea, and Canada.

A weekend storm ripped through Alberta's Lake Louise adding 5.5 inches to its base. Then, temps plummeted in its aftermath - "a perfect environment for snowmaking," says Matt Mosteller, a Resorts of the Canadian Rockies VP. With Mother Nature assisting resort efforts, lifts are scheduled to turn for the first day on Friday, Nov. 10.
