    By Miguel Strother The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games says several venues will open well in advance of the Games. One of those venues is Cypress Mountain's freestyle and snowboard site, which VANOC says will be completed by Fall 2007. Full Article

    By Miguel Strother January's World Snowboarding Championships in Arosa, Switzerland kick off a whirlwind year for pro snowboarder Crispin Liscomb. The Championships will be the first in a 10-week run of contests that has the Quebec City native and Whistler local flipping 900s between Switzerland, the U.S., Italy, Japan, Korea, and Canada.     By Becky Lomax A weekend storm ripped through Alberta's Lake Louise adding 5.5 inches to its base. Then, temps plummeted in its aftermath - "a perfect environment for snowmaking," says Matt Mosteller, a Resorts of the Canadian Rockies VP. With Mother Nature assisting resort efforts, lifts are scheduled to turn for the first day on Friday, Nov. 10. Full Article
