My first visit to Sugar Bowl was on 1/3. My expectation is low because Sugar Bowl is smaller compared to other larger resorts around Tahoe. There were no new snow in the last 3 days, but the runs are well groomed. I spent the morning checking out all the lifts around the mountain. There are some nice long runs from Mt Lincoln. Since Sugar Bowl offers free lessons with general admission, I planned an afternoon group lesson. I ride goofy and wanted to learn riding switch. It turns out, I was the only one in my group level. Matt and I warmed up and went through the basics on the first run. By the third run, I was comfortable riding switch at low speeds. Matt even taught me some basic tricks like ollie and front side 180. I am not comfortable with them, but happy to start practicing. Thanks Matt! I cannot wait to visit Sugar Bowl again.
