    Beginning Saturday, Jan. 13, and running through Friday, Jan. 19, NSAA, in cooperation with the country's ski and snowboard resorts, the National Ski Patrol and PSIA (the ski and snowboard instructors association), is conducting its annual National Safety Week, a campaign to "further reduce the frequency of accidents and to unify the industry to focus on and communicate a pro-active, strong safety message."     For the fourth consecutive season, Squaw Valley will salute active American service personnel with free lift tickets. The Military Discount Program, which this year honors the memory of WWII veteran and Squaw Valley founder Alex Cushing, who died this past summer, is valid on a daily basis throughout the season, except for the usual blackout days (Dec. 26 though Jan. 1, Jan. 13-14 and Feb. 17-18).
