Full review

The resort had reasonable traffic for a weekday, moderate traffic on weekends. Weekdays at Heavenly were as busy as the Weekend at Sierra. We did not go to Heavenly on the weekend. We visited at the peak of Spring Skiing.

My children, 10, 10, 7 had their first skiing experience at Sierra at Tahoe. The resort provids plenty of beginner runs to practice technique and build confidence and skill. The Ski Patrol was helpful to educate and answer questions as requested (no injuries thankfully!). The Sugar and Spice Run, 2.5 miles, green, is an exceptional first "REAL" run for beginners and the kids managed it successfully after 3 days of practice on Broadway with no problems. Most of the people we encountered were courteous (customers and staff).

We are not expert skiiers, so we did not try the blue and black runs. We spent 5 of our 6 skiing days at Sierra. The 3 day lift ticket (3 pak) is a good deal. There is very little discount for 1/2 day tickets.

Tubing was also fun, but a little crowded on the weekends. In our 2 hour session, we had at least 5 runs. Based on how busy they were, they discontinue selling tubing passes until the crowd clears so everyone can get their monies worth.

We saw a lot of families, 20 somethings, etc. All age ranges. Enjoy yourselves! We sure did! I can't wait to go back!
