Great snowmaking/grooming and great attitude
Some runs closed, no tree skiing
We skied Northstar Feb. 6 and 8, having long ago booked our lodging and flights. (We live in upstate New York.) We knew of the shortage of snow but were delighted to find Northstar's conditions very good, particularly on the Backside. We would have loved to ski powder in the trees, but cruising on the long groomers -- and finding corduroy well into the afternoon (on weekdays) -- was fantastic. We also love the Northstar vibe -- the village, the easy proximity for those staying in the condos, and the all-around great attitude. We first skied here 20 years ago, when the resort was much smaller, and we're happy to see how it's grown/improved. Our only complaint: No footrests on the chairlifts for our weary quads and knees!
