This is the first year that I've been riding Baldy, and I've been tremendously impressed, having been up at least once a week since New Year's. Definitely a challenging mountain that has a lot to offer and discover but not for the faint of heart, meaning steer clear if you're just starting. The staff are hit or miss, some are great but others are literally in outer space. With the early snow their base is solid this year but they could use some more as the place has fallen into a 'melt during day then ice up over night' cycle that renders some of the more fun runs under chair 3 unski-able. Also, when will they ever open South Bowl??
