Pros: Steep, raw, and challenging
Cons: 3 consecutive drought years
Recommended For: Single/Newlyweds
Hands down the steepest and most challenging ski areas in Southern California. Baldy has produced many great Skiers! So many memories of deep snow, crazy weather, good parties, and big air. The problem is and has been the severe drought that California is facing. I hope Baldy can get back to its normal Winter's which can sometimes last into May or June, with incredible peeling corn on open, steep glades. Mother Nature has not cooperated for 3 years in a row now. When she does, there's nothing better than a Pow day at Mt Baldy. When that day comes, Get there early! Seek out all the steep untracked off of South Bowl, then Go get the goods off Chair 1. Psych Out, and Psych Out Chutes, will get your full attention. No time to wine or complain. The terrain here is real, and will not disappoint. We just need some storms.
Pray for Snow!!
