If you need a quick mountain to go to in the southern california area - mt. high is definitely the stop youre looking for. its super easy to get to and an easy ride to the resort, also easier on the wallet since gas prices are soaring - unlike heading another 45 minutes up the mountain to snow summit or big bear (don't get me wrong - ive enjoyed both resorts - i'm just comparing distance and time to mt high) the ticket line was a drag (only 1 person working the window) but the lady was really friendly and helpful. we needed to get my brother's bindings tightened and also get an extra screw - the shop guy was on it and got him adjusted in no time - very cool - very helpful. fast lifts - we didnt have any wait time and they zoom to the top. we did the college night special. so night riding was the theme for the evening. there were some spots (on the black trails) that didnt have any lighting so it made it a mess reading the ride, but that was the only complaint on the terrain - the snow was packed and not too icy considering the night riding. the rails and boxes were on point. there were definitely more boarders than skiers - maybe 70/30 split.
really the only negative i can point out were the disgusting bathrooms. seriously - ceiling was leaking at one bathroom and the conditions - were deplorable. the other bathroom by the restaurant was sick. just imagine a really gross gas station bathroom - yeah.
overall we had a blast and a great workout on those trails. we'd definitely go back and plan on it before the season is over.
